Today, Barb is: tired.

so how is everyone out in the world?
things are trucking along for me here in the real one.

there have been ups, downs and all arounds going on over here for me.

the biggest news in my world is the fact that I was promoted at work.
so moving up to teller supervisor and operations assisstant.
taking me from being right on the main floor with all the customers and moving be back a bit to be able to focus on the operations stuff. it is really exciting and good things are happening over here, not only for me but for the whole place as well!

i am starting to read the book, South Beach Diet. a co-worker and I are going to read the book and try to get our blood healthy. that is what the book is about, not about weight loss or anything be making ourselved healthier in general. so we are going to read the book and then try out best to figure things out. we aren't getting the pills or food or whatever they have out there for it, it is just going to be us doing it together.

After Christmas is New Years.
Then we have my birthday!
So this time of the year is always busy for me.

So there is this website called Woot. go check it out if you don't know about it woot.com
I have been looking to get a portable mp3 music player. i was looking at an ipod but then woot had a brown zune for 79 bucks and then 5 bucks for shipping. it was cheap. thirty gigs. and brown. so i decided to buy it! then i got the email from woot saying that they had negative 1400 brown zunes and so i was going to get a black zune and an extra package with chargers, plugs, earphones, travel case... it was sold for a hundred bucks. so i basically got 200 bucks worth of stuff for 85 bucks! wheeeeee to woot!

But, i got my Zune last night. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! it was really fun to play with and now i have a sweet mp3 player to use on my flight down to orlando. rock me!
so, like my momma said, i must live right... and i do. i do.

Thirteen Things that are happening around the life of BARB 1…. I have become an AUNT!!! His name is Anson Jonas Lind. See the post previous to this for his picture. He is a cute little guy! 2.... I am going to Orlando, Flordia in the second weekend of November. The Mom and Dad will be down there with timeshare time and so I am using some of by vaca time to head down for a long weekend! 3.... Stephen Colbert has announced he will run for the Presidential Office of the USA. How does this relate to me? I would totally vote for him. 4.... I am thinking of buying a iPod. It is a black refurb 8 gig iPod and if I am going to be flying around, I am going to need something to listen to. 5.... The work has its annual shareholder meeting tonight, so I have to go and look pretty and talk to people about what I do. It is appetizers and free drinks. It will be interesting to see who ends up 'loosening up' the most. Stories will be forthcoming (I hope) 6.... I bought 4 pairs of bottoms for my Flordia trip and for the possible January/Feburary California trip. 7.... Halloween is around the corner and some friends and I are going to go to this corn maze next weekend. It should be insanely fun as I have never been to one. I am going to have to restrain myself from doing the whole put-your-hand-on-the-right-side-and-don't-let-go-and-you-will-get-out thing. 8.... I think I have decided what I am going to be for Halloween. 9.... My friend Erin is coming over tomorrow (friday) for a girls night at my place. My boys and the dog will be gone, so it will just be us and the cats hangin' out! 10.... My cats are annoying me. Snuffy to be exact. The past 4 days he has awoken me right around 4 am with his pawing at the bedroom door. I left the door open last night and i was awoken to the 4am pawing of the roommates door!!!!!!!! Not cool Snuffy, not cool. So any thoughts? I have tried covering the door with stuff; a garbage basket, toilet paper still in the plastic (becaseu it is like 4 high) and my random plastic garbage bag. Doesn't matter, still gets through that stuff to paw at the door. 11.... Seely has left the building!!! I try to go to her blog and it is gone. This saddens me. :-( Come back! I miss you. 12.... The middle boss is gone for 3 days starting tomorrow. The upper boss is gone starting monday for a whole week. That means for 2 whole days, Barb is in CHARGE. Scary thought huh? 13.... It is rainy and kinda dark so no one is here and it is like an early Friday! No bosses (see number 5 for the reason why, the board meeting, then shareholder meeting then shareholder party, i only have to be there for the party!) are here and no customers are here and so i am kinda bored but in a good way! ok here is my dilema that i am having right now.
when i rented my apartment i looked at it through rent.com
and it was an apartment that at the time was giving away a hundred dollar visa gift card if you signed the lease for one of the apartments in the offer. lo and behold, ours was one of them.

so i signed up for the gift card and it has arrived.
now here is the tricky part. should i just walk on the wild side and just blow it on fun stuff, like books and other stuff. i could have a field day at my fav ebook sites.
or do i take the mature responsible road and use it for like food, gas, and cat litter/food stuffs.

wild side or responsible?

thus the never ending barb dilema.

number three is my desk chair . it goes to the desk above. it is from Ikea and i love it!! It is red and i like red, even though it doesn't really go with my natural wood look in the room

my bed. i love it. there isn't anything else to say. i really like my comforter set. i bought and exchanged 3 sets before i decided to stick with this one. i am glad that i did!

Ikea, natural wood.... are you getting the picture? i like it. even though it was harder than hell to put it together since we were missing like 12 holes for screws. it sucked.

Today, Barb is: wondering why work sucks so much?

maybe it is what i am doing.
maybe it is the fact that i am like a month behind.
maybe it is the fact that i need a new job.

yep. that has come again. the time of the month where barb looks for a job, sees a job she really really wants, gets interviews, and then doesn't get it. it is a vicious vicious cycle. it sucks. but alas. that is the world with barb.

i am currently working on my Thursday Thirteen and since Eric is not feeling well we are not going to Merlin's Rest for fish and chips tonight. insert sad face here. there is a chance that i may just go and have dinner myself tonight there. i don't know. i will let you know.

threw a baby shower for the sister in law who is pregnant. that went well.
baby is due at the beginning of october. so i will hopefullly have some pics up when the babe is born. i am taking guesses as to if it is a girl or a boy. we don't know.

i went to the Melting Pot last night because work (in a surprisingly nice gesture) wanted to recognize everything i have done lately and told me to take my significant other out for dinner on them. so i took eric, not quite my significant other, but the closest gayest thing i have. we had fun. i am still full and this is the day after!

found a couple new blogs that i like. been a lurker for most of them.
took pictures that will be going up today of my bedroom area in the new apt. (hint hint TT, cough) so that should be cool.

just got invited to a movie sneak peek tonight for free that i might go to. the new Ron Howard one...? something about the astronaunts, i am not sure.

ok. back to work i go!

today it is friday.
hip hip horray.
on the bad part, i woke up at like 4 am this morning to major craps.
not cool.
but it got better and then i did wake up.
i had to wake up really early to take my car to a dealership and have it looked at. my baby has this thing where i can't shift unless the key is in the shift lock thingy. and so i took it in EARLY this morning (for those of you who don't know me, i am not a morning person). i got there and i heard the most beautiful sentence in the car world

'It looks like your Aveo is still under warranty'
YES!!!!!!!!!!
way to go barb's car! i did a happy dance, right there in the car dealership. i am not going lie. i was so happy i was tempted to give the guys the brownies i made for the pot luck we had today at work.

i made brownies because we decided to have a bank pot luck and i decided to make brownies since most people were bringing other stuff. needless to say, we have WAY to much food. like i am talking we could eat what we have for the next week and a half. we have 2 cakes.
2 cakes people.
brownies, chicken, pasta salad, lettuce salad, chips and dip, cheese curds, cucumber sandwiches, ice cream, watermelon, cantaloupe, watermelon.
way to much food.
but it puts everyone in a good mood!!! :-) so we are rip-roarin' and having a grande ole time here at the work.

Thirteen Things that start with B 1 - Barb!!! that would be me! 2 - books... duh, i am kinda of a book feind 3 - blue, the color.. it is in my top five. 4 - babys.... we have baby fever at our place, sister-in-law is pregnant, friend is pregnant, friend already had baby! there are going to be/is babyies-galor! 5 - beer. no i am not a drunk, i just enjoy a beer now and again 6 - bacon, it is so so good... and in sandwiches it is ever better! I love a good BLT. yum! 7 - brownies... chocolate food, how can you NOT like them? also i am pretty darn good at making (and eathing) them. 8 - bbq. i like it. you get messy and you get to eat really good yummy meat with bbq sause on it! 9 - oh oh oh! bananas! they are like one of my top favorite fruits 10 - the Beatles. how can i forget the beatles! they have awesome music and thier videos are totally a trip! 11 - bed, in particual MY bed. i love it. there is nothing better than after a long day, crawling into bed and ketting yourself drift 12 - berries also... not just bananas. i like them all, straw, blue, black, rasp. yum! 13 - and last but not least.... boys! ok well actually men, but boys starts with 'b' Links to other Thursday Thirteens!1. Today, Barb is: feeling like she wants to rip her nose off and drain it.

i woke up this morning with a little tickle in the back of my throat. i didn't think anything of it because it is morning and i normally wake up with something aching or just in pain and so it didn't bother me.
but today as the day has progressed, my nose is starting to be stuffed up.
more and more stuffy as the day moves on.
boo.

with the exception of the small tickle that is still there and my singular nostril that is stuffed, i am fine. not tired or anything. so who the heck knows!

but don't worry, my thirteen is coming.
you will just have to wait.

Today, Barb is: so stinkin' happy that today is friday she wants to get up and do a happy dance.

it is FRIDAY!!!!
Now there is a small dissapointment on the Friday scale and that is that I work tomorrow. Oh the whoa's of the banking world. But it is just a few hours and it is in the morning so it is not horrid.

The week off that I had was great.
For those of you who did not know, I moved!
Yep I have a place a heck of a lot closer to work and with some friends.
The move-in week was a hot week (of course, i can't move at all without extreme heat. there is something that makes anytime i move, the hottest of the season).
The cats have been moved into the place as well so that is good also. I took a few days to have the place to myself and just get set up in and then the cats moved in. They lived in the closet for the first few days and now are more prone to checking out the rest of the place when the dog is not loose on them. My lazy cats don't realize that the dog just wants to play. The dog doesnt' realize that my cats play in their own time (which is normally between 1:30 am and 4:45 am).

so yea, we are all just one happy family.
i am cleaning tonight and hopefully pictures to come soon.

Today, Barb is: feeling kinda frustrated.

looking at jobs is fun.
finding a job that doesn't have a ton of experince is HARD!

all i want to do is shake the people who talk to me and say 'IF YOU GIVE ME EXPERIENCE I WILL HAVE SOME!!!' ok. it is the whole double edged sword. if you don't have experience then we don't need you, but no one will hire me to give me experience! rha.

why is the saying 'a double edged sword'? that is like stating the obvious. duh. it is a sword. swords have 2 sharp sides. and yet i use that saying a lot...... humm i will have to think about that.

ok so the going-ons with me.
jim and kristene are coming home for the weekend
highland fest is this weekend.
i move on tuesday.
i am taking my vacation time to pack and move.
i get a WHOLE WEEK OFF!!! eeekkk! happy dance!
joe and the rest of TCUC is practising for national that are coming up soon.
kim's baby bump is growing bigger and she is looking prettier everyday! she has the 'baby-glow' as i like to call it.
i still love me my car.

pretty boring i know. my goal is to find my camera in cleaning and take pics of the before and after we move in. again, i repeat. this is my GOAL. :-)

Today, Barb is: at work. doing her thang. you know.

so there isn't a whole lot going on in the life of me.
this weekend is RF Days and so i may be there.
next weekend is the local community festival that i am working at for the bank.
the weekend after that is is weekend up at my moms friends cabin which i am really really excited for! we eat, swim (sometimes), play card games, play other games, drink, eat and play more card games. it is a weekend that i love and look forward to every summer.

also...... baaaaaaaa - dum!
12 days from now and i will be moving in to my new place with the boys.
oh, yea that week i also took off so i can get everything ready for moving and so i won't be at the bank the whole week of the 23rd thru the 27th. and then that is the cabin weekend, so basically that is going to be a great 10 days!

that is basically all from me here. have a good day, i will work at getting the thursday thirteen if i have time, but i can't promise anything.

so, what have i been doing?
well, i have been dog sitting, but i think you already know that. the dog is a good dog, but he is scarred of fireworks and when he gets scarred he thinks he turns into a lap dog. being a 125 pound dog and thinking you are a lap dog... well lets just say that those 2 things don't make for the best of sleeping conditions.
but other than that, things are going well on the dog sitting front.
now i would say that i am looking for a job, but that sounds like i just started so instead i will say, i am still looking for a job.
if anyone out there in the metro area is looking for a hard working, HR assisstant with some experience, let me know, because i am the gal for you!

so someone told me that another person told them that after reading the last few days it sounds like all i do is complain on here. what are your thoughts?

now i understand where that person is coming from because i know that the last few days have been pretty stinkin' crappy for me and instead of going out and getting drunk or possibly hauling off and jumping over the desk and tackeling someone who bothers me at work, i vent about it.

so yea,
well. i have to get back to the audit guy we have here. this is my first audit that he is looking at a BUNCH of my stuff and my stuff alone! eek! :-)

Today, Barb is: feeling like she let you all down.



so the world is going crazy here at the bank.

i was moved from my desk at the door to the teller line where i am in the handicapped accessible desk. so that means that my desk shrunk by 75% which i am NOT happy about.

not at all.



so wednesday i was told that i had to move my desk.

so wednesday that is what i did all day long. it was kind of nice because it took the whole day and so the day went fast, but i was mad basically the whole day long because i had to condense and move and clean and everything. but the good thing about wednesday was that after work Janel from church had a small birthday dinner in the roseville mall at Ramanos Macoronni Grill. so dinner was splendid!

thursday was another long day at work with finishing the desk moving and cleaning both desks and moving other people and just not being happy with everything that is going on in the bank. but the highlight of thursday was the fact that i got tickets from work to go see the Saint Paul Saints game for free! So I gave the tickets to dad as a fathers day present and so we went with some friends. the game was really fun! so that was another fun but long night.

and then we come to friday. i had to work fom 8-5 which is the 3rd time this week. normally i work until 5 one, maybe 2 nights a week. nope 3 nights this week.. but on the plus side, i put in over 8 hours and every little bit in the money helps. so friday at work sucked yet again. i was busy from the moment i sat down at 8 am until 4.45 pm. it is the end of the month and people get crazy then. we have all these reports and things happening that HAVE TO GET DONE TODAY because it is the end of the month and end of the week which makes it worse since people won't be hjere to deal with things on saturday (today). and friday was the day that i started dog/house sitting for spike the big scardity dog whos parents go out to their cabin for the week of the 4th of July and they can't take Spike becuase he is huge and hates fireworks and will run through screen doors and hide outside and just generally get lost. so when i did get home i started getting everything together to go to thier house for the week and a half. i did eventually get to their house and spike was waiting for me. had some dinner, read some of my book and then went to bed.

which brings us all up to date with today. saturday. i am currently at work right now. this is the first time in the last few days that i have actually had time at work do sit and blog. so that is why there is a hugley long post coming at all of you out there.

tonight i am having some friends over to the house for a bbq and just general havoc. it is the group of us that met in our summer diversity class and we go out to eat at an ethnic restraunt once a month, since we don't get to see each other anymore we have started doing another activity once a month also becuase we miss each other. and so we have some games, food, dogs, people, and fun coming my way tonight. also booze. yep. after this week i need it.
but don't worry. there will be no driving. that is why it is a sleep over.

it is my hope that i will be able to give you some pictures. but you never know.

Today, Barb is: tired and getting ready to take a shower so she can go to bed.

so the media is telling us that is looks like Chris Benoit killed his wife and child and then committed suicide. i sort of have the aversion to believing what the media says 100% but i dont know. i think maybe i just don't want to think that he killed them all. i have this other thing where i always want to believe the best of people. i guess you could call it a bit of self inflicted naiveity. i want to believe the best because i want people to be nice to one another. i know that not everyone is, but i want them to be.

does that make me an idealist?
probably.
oh well. i don't think there is anything you can do about it.
i applied for like 4 new jobs today.
night all!! off to shower now and get ready for another day tomorrow.

Today, Barb is: full from dinner and watching tv with dad.



so Chris Benoit from the WWE died. apparently he and his whole family (wife and young son) were found dead today in their atlanta area home. we are watching the WWE and it's a whole 3 hours dedicated to him and remembering him. it is pretty darn interesting. it is really sad because all the reports say that he was just an amazing man and great athlete.

it is so sad when something like that happens.

it is really something to see when there is all these big, strong, burly wrestlers who are talking about him and just crying and you can tell how hard this is for them. how just totally unreal the whole thing is with him being gone, and how hard it is going to be on them when they have to get back into the ring.

Today, Barb is: tired.
so yesterday was a long day!
i worked from 8-5 (and boy were we busy!) and then afterwards i came home changed and went to IKEA with Sarah and Matt. i was getting a bed frame and they were getting couches. so we had a grande ole time.

we were there for like 3 hours. we had dinner and got lots of stuff. well not LOTS of stuff but between all of us, the total was 800 bucks. and so i wasn't home until like 10ish. i had just got done putting the bed frame into the other van when i had to go to the bathroom. so of course as i was going to the bathroom the phone rang and being that it was like 10.30 at night, i figured that it had to be the parents. so they had arrived home and that meant i had to go and get them.

so i had to go and get them and bring them home which ment we weren't home until like 11.30 and so we weren't into bed until like 12.30ish... i think.
so that is why i didn't blog yesterday.

Today, Barb is: excited for the second thursday thirteen!

so, in honor of my first woot purchase, the thirteen thing barb has bought or wants to buy!

number 1!!!!! that would be my new combination blender and food processor from woot. it arrived today and i am very excited to use it soon!!!
the second is a 'want to buy'. it would Kathy Griffin. I would like nothing more that to buy her and make her follow me around as my conscience and just generally making my life incredibily fun and funny.


this next little bute it number 3. that would be my laptop. it is an acer aspire 5100 and it was a good deal for the amount of computer i got.
so number 4 is one of my favorite movies. Little Miss Sunshine. such a great movie. i honestly don't know what else to say, if you haven't seen it, you must.

number 5 is a what i want to buy. that would be a fun townhouse. something like below would be the greatest. but i have to get my dream job first.
number 6.... well number 6 is what i want to buy and love A LOT. you know what i mean.
number 7 and number 8 are two books that i really really really want to get.
anya and shiloh are 2 of my favorite authors and i just need to save money so i can get both these books which i am sure will rock just as much as all the other of there books i have read.
number 9 is something that i would like to purchase in the future. i think it would be really cool to have.
now number 10, number 10 took some consideration. i can just stare at him like this forever. i like the kind of dirty look on him. yummy.
while we are on the topic, here is number 11 for ya! it is columbus short. he makes me toes curl.
number 12 is the last thing that i want. if anyone wants to buy this for me, it is in scotland. i have been there and no one is living in it so i am sure it could be bought.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHH WWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! this is number 13 and i love it a whole lot! that would be my new car. it is a 2004 4 door chevy aveo ls. silver (it took me a long time to find a picture of one exactly like mine), sunroof, power everything, and i LOVE IT!

so today is one of our tellers last day. so we got bank lunch! basically this means that they bank pays for lunch for the whole bank. we got jimmie johns today.
yum. number 7 with avacado, chips and a pickle... what a great lunch.

so tonight i get to cook dinner for my sister-in-law Kim. she is joe's wife and since the people i live with are gone (the parents) and the person she lives with (joe, the unicycling husband) is gone, we decided to get together and have dinner. so i have chicken with teriaki sauce, broccoli, and rice. sounds good huh?
well you can't have any. it is for me and kim.
also because she is pregnant and i want to do something nice for her while joe is gone. and it gives me a good reason to see her and spend time with her.
after dinner i get to go back home and finish the shirts and then run them up to the secretary from church's house after.

then showering and going to bed. that is basically the plan of my night. and i will tell you this, i am excited for it. i have things to do, things that i am going to enjoy doing.

i also need to start thinking of the thursday thirteen since tomorrow is thursday! wheeeee! that means the day after is FRIDAY!! mom and dad come home late that night. then saturday i have my bud erin's graduation party. then sunday i don't know what i am going to do. i would like to go to Ikea and see if my bed is onsale and if so, buy it. but that is also the day the Pride Parade is going on downtown. if you don't already know, i am a total supporter of the gays. point and case, i am going to be living with 2 of them! (i love them and they love me, don't question it) but i have other gays who will be at the parade and i would like to see them since it has been a while since there was a visit. so i am torn.

Today, Barb is: having a butt that hurts from sitting down. but later tonight her feet will hurt.

i am jealous. i need to get back up on my unicycle and keep learning.

i have this thing were if i am not instantly good at something, i don't stick with it very long. but i really really realy really really really really really really really (i typed every last one of those really's, not just copy paste) unicycling. what i want to do is find either a person who won't judge me and my slowness to help me, or a really long wall in the middle of no where so i can be all by myself. when i go to the practises i see everyone who is so good and people who started learning after me just zooming around and it is hard for me to keep motivated.
i want to be able to unicycle to and from work eventually. i would like nothing better, but i need to get a lot better first. i also just need to build my muscle and work out in general.

that is one thing that i am excited about for my new apartment, they have a pool (yeah for swimming!) and a really nice workout room with lots of different stuff in it. so eric and i have decided that when we start living there we are going to pick 2 or 3 nights where we are going to go workout every week. and we are going to work out together so it will be funner for both parties.
ok, now that you have learned a lot more about me, i am just going to go and run away.

Today, Barb is: hot outside and freezing inside.
so it is about 80 degrees right now. i am wearing a sweater.
why?
because we have a person in the bank who is constantly hot and so the temp is always turned WAY down. i have heard tell that during the hottest times of summer, people who are not properly dressed end up shivering due to the coldness and then when they go outside, it is such a huge differerance that they actually get sick. yea. not excited about that.

other than that, i get to do a bunch of shirts for the dad since they are away. so tonight and tomorrow night, that is what i will be doing.

other than that there really isn't a whole lot of stuff going on with my right now. i move in like 36 days. the person who tells me what to do is gone this week and so i am going to be bored a lot. ok that is all.

Today, Barb is: hot, sticky, and wants to sleep in a pool.

yes, i did not post of friday. but i would just like to point out that if we are going by the number of days posted in a row, i am still winning becuase since i started i have only missed one day whereas jim has missed 2 days. so yea.

yesterday i got to go home early from work because on thursday i was there from 7.15 until 5.30. reason being is that we have moved over to what we call 'branch capture'. basically what that means is that we do all of the scanning and stuff of the deposits and junk and we get to do it whenever we want and we don't have to send the stuff out to be processed so that also means that we don't have a 3 o'clock cut off time anymore so when people come in at 4.45 the transaction is credited that day. it is pretty cool. i get to be in charge of it. so that is awesome! :-)

other than that things are going well. mom and dad have called a few times to tell me about the trip, they have seen mount mckenley and bears and all sorts of stuff. basically they are having a great time. so yea.

other than that there isn't a whole lot more going on.

the cats went to the vet on wednesday.
it was actually easier to get Oscar into the cat carrier than i expected. basically i just attacked her. i went straight to her and grabbed her by the scruff. then i manuevered so i could get the cat carrier down one handed and tipped it up and stuffed her in. i then grabbed snuffy and put him in there next to her. i rolled them around and they SO did not like being in there. i felt like a bad mommy! they were crying and pawing to get out. but they needed it to get healthy.

that was the other thing that went on for me.

Today, Barb is: feeling kind of bad for jiping your guys out on a good post.

so last night i posted but i was tired. i am sorry, i couldn't help it. my bed was calling and the eyes were drooping. so i wrote short and went to bed.

ok so today is the day.
joe leaves.
the cats go to the vet.
i get to go eat german food.
i get to see my friends!!!!! (while eating german food)
i get to go and buy a bunch of tshirts for the dad's business.

i know what you must be thinking, but barb, the dad is gone, why does he need shirts for his business? well let me tell you.
i am taking his place while he is gone. yep that is right.
i get to do shirts. now it is not that hard because i need to order them and go pick them up, pay for them and then get my hands on the iron on transfers from church. then i have to put the transfers on the shirts. not a big deal.

wait, joe is leaving?
yep he leaves for the mediterranean unicycling tour! see the link at the side. :-)

the day was fine.
the new prez will be coming by tomorrow, of course i have my half day and so i miss him. boo.

but guess what i did? i got an appointment for the kitties to get a checkup on wednesday. now the only thing is making sure that i can get the kitties into the carrier thing that i have. oscar will be the most trouble. snuffy would stay where i put him, oscar on the other hand is a very fickle woman. but i have figured out a plan of attack. i am going to put the cat carrier on its end and then put oscar in the carrier and shut it and then shove snuffy in on top of her and close it and then put it back on the wheels.

also i am planning on mowing the lawn either tuesday or thursday. yeah.

oh and guess what? i am totally beating jim on the posting everyday challenge.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! i have finally beat him at something!

Today, Barb is: cuttin' it reallllly close. but i am here none the less.

so it is a late night here at the Home Household.
Why? Well my dearest darling momsie and popsicle are getting ready to leave for alaska tomorrow. i get to be the pack horse and take them to the airport and pick them up when they get back. which means that they leave in about 12 hours and mom just started packing. dad is almost done. i am just tired of sitting and writing lists and checking things off the lists.

other than that the day had gone well.
there was a graduation party at church for a high school grad. she is the daughter of one of our contegual ed students (they go to seminary school and work with a church), her dad works at our church.

so that was fun. there was a lot of really good food that a friend of theirs from texas came up for the party and made for them. it was awesome.

my eyes are having a hard time staying open so i will bid you all a good night.

Today, Barb is: getting ready to celebrate! Celebrate good times come on!

So today is FINALLY Friday. Which means that we are much more relaxed here at work. I like Fridays. Especially because basically the 2 people that would keep everyone in line, are gone! Poof.
Gone.

Well not gone gone, but not here today. Enforcer Number 1 is on vaca from Thursday (yesterday) thru Tuesday. so when the cat is away, the mice will play! hazzah!
Enforcer Number 2 is just taking a vaca day himself, he isn't really an enforcer, but the people who work under him feel like they need to be good when he is here and when he isn't, there is more talk, laughter and just general loudness from them.

So the Jim has already failed in his quest to post every single day this month. But the challenge still stands as brother vs sister.

Today, Barb is: continuing upward and onward in her goal!!!!

So last night was a lot of fun.
It was the dads work retirement party since today is the last day of work for the teachers and such. there were lots of people, some food and booze flowing.
there was cake. it was good cake. it was cub cake.

i woudl say the highlight of the night was having kim and joe there. i don't really get to see them that often anymore. mainly becuase they are busy when i am not and for some odd reason, if i have plans they want to get together with the rest of the fam. but they were there last night and it was a good time to be able to see them and hang out with them.

other than that, there was a cute guy there. a little older, but i dont mind. but i guess he is big into drinking and brags all about the women he gets and so that crossed him off the list.

i am wearing my new necklace today. it is cute. i will try and find a picture of it somewhere and it i have time i will post it. also, the other necklace i got is a ducky.

i have decided that i am going to decorate my bathroom with ducky accents.

guess what i did today?
i had a phone interview. it is with RSM McGladrey for an HR Representative. I don't think it went very well, but you can never tell. I would like to say that it is in the bag, but i honestly don't think it has been my best interview. i am a much better in-person interviewer. people get to know me that way. people like me more when they get to meet me face to face. at least that is what i tell myself so i sleep good at night! :-)

Today, Barb is: having a pretty good day.

things are going well in the land of barb.
the lease has been officially signed and we begin moving in to the new place approx July 23rd-ish.
the car is still great and beautiful and i love it.
Kim is still pregnant. Cori is still pregnant. Erin is still pregnant.
Basically everyone is pregnant.
Work is going ok.
I have applied for another job that i REALLY want. So I will keep you up to date with that.

Mom and dad will be leaving for about 2 weeks for their cruise to Alaska come the 10th.
that means barb will be all by herself.
any one want to come over and keep her company? :-)

I don't really know that there is anything else going on lately.
I have a wedding that I am going to this weekend. They are the rich family members so it will hopefully be a good time.

Today, Barb is: bored out of her gourd!

So in the banking profession we have these people called 'AUDITORS'.
There are yearly audits and quarterly audits, as far as I can tell.
If there is one thing that everyone in the banking world can agree on, is the fact that the dreaded 'a' word will send the most calm, easy-going bank employee into a downward spiral based upon stress, worry, and just general chaos.

Well, guess who is visiting the bank this week?
Yep, you guessed right, we are being visited by our lovely 8-all-male-FDIC-auditor-squad.

Now it my assumption that they only come once a year, and let me tell you that is a good thing. I don't know if I can take my uppers being this crazy. We can't have fun. We can't really chat.
Basically the 'a-words' have sucked all the fun out of the bank this week.

Not for Barb though!
I apparently seem to be much more twisted than I had originally assumed because I love seeing the uppers squirm!!!! It is really funny to listen to the 8 guys shoved into our little board room. They talk really loud, sometime swear(!), and cause undue stress to all the VPs of our little world. All in all, its great!

Ok, the other reason that I don't mind them is because a couple are actually cute.

Well the weekend for myself was awesome, just like I expected it to be!

9 am - work at the bank ( i know, you are all thinking, what the crap? why is she excited about having to go to work on a saturday morning of all things? But, I got thursday afternoon off and it gives me a chance to do most of my monday morning stuff so i get an easier day!)

noon - come home and take a nap.
yeah for naps! just me, my bed, my cats and maybe a book!

4ish - meet my friends for an early dinner. we are meeting at Pizza Luce where i have never actually been, but have heard nothing but good things about.

after pizza, going to go and stand in line for RollerGirls!!!! they are giving away free water bottles to the first like 400 people and i intend to get one!

Minnesota RollerGirls are having their last bout for the season and I am dragging a few of my buds along with me! after that there is a possiblity of heading over to the after bout party at O'Garas in Saint Paul.

ok so i know that everyone and their mother are talking about the Virgina Tech shooting.
it is a given.
if you haven't heard about it, you are either
a - living under a rock - or -
b - ignoring every possible stimuli option (radio, tv, internet, newspaper)

basically a guy went crazy and killed a bunch of people.

so the thing that sort of bothers me is the fact that there are people calling for the resignation of the president of the school and the chief of police. they did not kill anyone!
they didn't do anything other than have the misfortune of being in a place of power when a troubled young man decided to make some horrible choices.

i went to a smaller school.
the only reason that i knew the president is because i worked on campus at a very visable job, and i was really active on student senate and she made a point of being involved with it.

a normal student really didn't have a whole lot of interaction with my president, even though she was called the 'students chancellor' (we call our university presidents, chancellors, but for the sake of this i have changed to president, and when our chancellor died and the replacement came in, we didn't see him a whole lot)

there is no way that the president or chief of police can be held responsible. there is no way in the whole world that they would have been able to change anything that happened. was it their responsibility to talk to every single student? granted there was the teacher who was worried about him, so there was some sort of warning flag, but on a university campus, it is hard to keep in touch with every single teacher and student.

first off we had this guy who came in to get his interest from his cd and he smelled like a combination of ammonia and what i would expect embaling fluid to smell like. needless to say i was VERY GLAD when he left my desk and i was able to spray my disinfecting stuff.

second we have gotten the paternity results and for all you out there in cyberland, Larry is the father of Anna Nicoles baby. That is the blond guy, if anyone cares.

thirdly, i forget how much i LOVE john stewart. I know that i always enjoy watching him and the Daily Show, but i always forget to watch it. but the past few days i have been able to watch it. love it. that is all i can say.

so there isn't a whole lot new in the life of barb.
still has her cute little car!
going to be moving into an apartment with her friends Eric and Ryan in August.
saving money for all the things that i will need to buy for my apartment.

-new computer
-new bed and frame
-other random furniture that will probably be from Ikea since it is kinda cheap
-other random stuff that is needed to decorate the new place

that is just the tip of the iceberg.
more lists will come as it gets closer to moving time.

good news is that they are going to let us paint! they have 6 specific colors that they let us chose from (becasue if we use those, we don't have to pay for it is get repainted) and they are going to buy us the first gallon!

other than that, things are still going well.
not working at the Depot anymore. enjoying having nights and weekends to myself. we will see how it goes with the new place. right now my budget is looking good. enough to pay for everything and still be saving. but if i got a part time job, then i would have more money to put away and save for a townhome.

i kind of feel like i am going to be sick, or like i am getting high.

work is good.
mom and dad are gone for a few more days.
we are supposed to get bad weather this weekend.
i get a half day off tomorrow!

Well I have just finished my first Post It Note pad!
I figure that is a true sign of being gainfully employed!

YEAH!
Oh, and mom and dad left for thier cruise.

My bank is starting a new Remote Deposit Capture product!
The bank I work for will be offering a new product early this Summer which will enable our Commercial Deposit Account customers to make their deposits without ever having to leave their place of business. They will have a scanner at their place of business and throughout the day they can run the checks they receive through this scanner and electronically submit their deposit to us. All without ever having to fill out a deposit ticket or leave their business to come to the bank. They’ll also have until 7:00 p.m. (I will confirm the exact time at a later date) to make these deposits.

Some ideas so far are:

Today, Barb is: feeling lonely, oh so lonely.

not really.
but i am wondering if people even read this any more. or if this is just one of those blogs that is published and is never found by anyone in cyber space.

maybe i should start saying profound things, or talk about my experiences at work.

She was found unresponsive in her casino hotel room, it was either Vegas or Flordia. I don't know. But so that is your big news of the day!

Today, Barb is: feeling like a change is in the air, and diggin it.

so i have decided that i am in the mood for a change.
since the person who gives me my needed directives is out for the day, i really dont' have much to do. so i decided to update my blog, if you couldn't tell.

i am feeling better which is always a good thing!
i still have some nose and throat things going on, but i am sneezing and coughing crap up, so atleast it is getting out of my system.

not much else is going on.
i still love my car!
i still really like my job!
the 'rents are going a a cruise in a couple weeks so i will be watching the homestead to make sure nothing goes wrong.

i still need to get my pics up from atlanta, and then i need to take pics of the aveo and put those up also!

by the by, i am still looking for names for the aveo, and thoughts? let me know.

Today, Barb is: wishing she could rip her nose off and drain it.

so i am sick.
stuffed nose, the ear thing which leads into TMJ.

i went and got my car yesterday.
i love it alot.
it is identical to my brother joes car.
i didn't realize that it would be. i figured it was close, but not a dang replica.
oh well, yet another aspect that i have copied my eldest brother in.

Today, Barb is: working at a gold mine, goin' down down down.

so technically, a bank could be considered a gold mine.
but whatever.

So this is my 4th day here at the bank and I enjoy it.
It is starting to make more and more sense the more and more that I do the things that I am going to be doing. I am balancing the ATM, balancing the cash in the morning from the day before, opening new accounts i.e. CDs, checking, savings etc, and dealing with the incoming and outgoing wires.

Those are just some of the things that I am going to be doing. But so far I really like the people I work with, and I really like the customers that I have encountered.
So needless to say, Barb is having a good time with her full time job.

Other than that, there isnt a whole lot. As you all know I graduated.
My mom and I went down to the ATL for our trip. I will try and get all my pictures up on my site for everyone.

That is another thing, Joe paid for my picture site so there is another year of updated pictures (hopefully). I am still working at Home Depot on the weekends. Hopefully I will be able to keep that going and bank everything I make at the Bank and then hopefully live off of what I make at Home Depot. That is hopefully my plan.

Ok, well time is winding down and it is starting to get to be quiting time. I will be back eventually. Hope all is well for everyone~!

At the behest of my sister in law Kristene, I will update my blog.

- Barb graduated on Dec 16th
- Barb has a job lines up at Pinehurst Bank in St Paul starting January 8th
- Barb and Mom went to Atlanta for a fun weekend
- Barb had a good Christmas and a fun New Year
- Barb hopes that everyone else had good holidays also
